Body Images in Youth Cultural Media

Based on body representations in the print media of the Antifa, the article empirically examines body practices and related media design practices as acts of representation in the field of politics. An analytical approach to political positioning through forms of youth cultural expression is presented, which  investigates concrete aesthetic practices in their relationship to prevailing representational regimes and their respective socio-historical context. Exemplary reconstructions at two different historical points in time show that young people’s political positioning is primarily related to their positioning within dominant representational regimes.
