Photoelastic Measurements on Tempered Flat Glass

  • Steffen Dix

摘要

In order to analyze the origin and distribution of optical anisotropy effects from residual stress differences, a large number of full-field photoelastic measurements had to be performed on tempered glass panes. The photoelastic experiments conducted in this chapter form the basis for the usability of the full-field methods from chapter 4. They aim to identify factors that qualitatively influence the retardation pattern of tempered architectural glass, see sections 5.3 to 5.5. The experiments with its retardation images also provide the database for the correlation of anisotropy effects in the field study of chapter 6 and the application of various digital evaluation methods in chapter 8.
