Has Postmodernity Already Begun?
摘要
The eruption of Covid-19 in January 2020 has relatively surprisingly overridden the late-modern normalities of life and put a damper on modernization. With the Corona crisis, has modernity perhaps come to its end, and is it now being joined by a new post-modern age? Or is the Covid 19 pandemic not much more a phenomenon (albeit singular) typical of modernity per se, which can only be understood within the logic of modernization and will then also lead to a further intensification of modernity? Has postmodernity already begun, or do we continue to live in a fundamentally modern society, even if it once again changes its shape? And what does this mean for the loneliness that continues to intensify in the course of modernization?
