The Lonelinesses of Late Modernity

The observable intensification in modern lonelinesses, as they become more and more evident in the course of high modernity, provokes a crisis of modern societies along modernization progresses. Societies are therefore in danger of breaking apart due to the forces that are disintegrating them: the loneliness produced by modernity threatens to outstrip the successes of modernization and thus endanger the project of modernity as a whole. The age of this intensified crisis of modernity will therefore be called late modernity. Through the lonelinesses escalating in it, late modernity becomes the endgame of modernization with an uncertain outcome. What new loneliness does late modernity hold in store?
