Interpreting Speech Prosody

There are a number of different ways in which we can account for the way in which speech prosody contributes to the interpretation of an utterance. In this chapter, I concentrate essentially on my own work in this area and do not attempt to give anything like an exhaustive account of work on the interpretation of speech prosody in other frameworks, although a number of references provide links to other approaches to this topic.
