Non-glycosidic iridoids and glycosidic iridoids are distributed in various Plantago species with skeletons made of either C9 or C10. Moreover, these compounds showed several biological effects such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer effects. This chapter seeks to provide a thorough examination of the phytochemistry, biological activities, and metabolism related to iridoid glycosides in Plantago species, highlighting their importance and prospective therapeutic applications. The findings highlight the significance of these compounds in pharmaceutical research.
