Plotins einzelne Schriften

This chapter is an overview of Plotinus’ work. Each of his 54 treatises is briefly summarized. The order followed is the chronological one; treatises divided by Porphyry for the edition of the Enneads are treated as unities. Each summary first identifies the philosophical and/or exegetical problem Plotinus addresses and, where necessary and possible, sketches its background in the philosophical tradition. After that, a concise analysis of the treatise’s structure and argument is given.
