Die Enneaden-Ausgabe
摘要
This chapter discusses the edition of Plotinus’ writings and the important role Porphyry had to play in organizing this edition. An overview of the chronology of Plotinus’ texts and their titles is offered and the division of the writings into ‘Enneads’—six groups of nine—is explained. The role of Amelius as corrector and commentator of the writings is assessed on the grounds of the—scarce and inconclusive—evidence. Finally, Plotinus’ treatises are listed in the order in which they appear in the Enneads (based on Porphyry, Life of Plotinus 24–26; for a presentation in the chronological order see Chap. 5).
