Erinnerung und Vorstellung
摘要
First, memory according to Plotinus is defined as an immaterial mental representation of an object of perception and distinguished from Aristotelian and Stoic concepts of memory. It is then shown how Plotinus places memory and imagination midway between perception and rational thought and explains how perception, imagination and rational thought interact practically in cognition in earthly life. Finally, it is briefly traced whether and how memory and imagination exist for Plotinus after the separation of the soul from the body.
