The Fantastic Between Nature Imitation and Poetic Truth

摘要

According to the meaning contents, which were shown in the short sketch of the history of the concept at the beginning of the first chapter of this work, the “fantasy” as the “opposite of perception”, “opposite of reality” and  “delusion” also refers to the creatively active “power of imagination”, the “fantastic” as the “unusual”, “unnatural”, “adventurous” in the sense of an excessive, even pathological use of imagination on antonyms such as the “real”, the “probable”, the “natural” and thus in the perspective of art theory on the mimetic aesthetics of the 18th and early 19th centuries, which was particularly problematic in the field of music theater on the one hand with regard to the constant singing of the actors on stage, on the other hand with regard to instrumental music the so-called tonal painting.
