Emotionalisation Between Sexuality, Generational Conflict, and Discourse on Power

  • Marlene Antonia Illies

摘要

A 19-year-old shoots his sister’s boyfriend and then himself. A classmate of the suicidal murderer is accused of complicity, spends eight months in custody, stands trial and is acquitted. The so-called Steglitzer Schülertragödie (Steglitzer Student Tragedy) is in its early beginnings a criminal case and is to be investigated here as a media network. For this purpose, the theoretical foundations and terminology as well as the media excesses of the Stoff must first be clarified in order to then examine exemplary areas in which the story of the Steglitzer Schülertragödie was told, processed and exploited. In doing so, the multitude of media manifestations, the extent of the history of reception as well as its intermedial references, which also refer to other media networks, are to be taken into account. Media (re)processing still exists after the turn of the millennium, and this contribution focuses on contemporary adaptations from 1927 to 1929.
