Novel Antibiotics in Urology
摘要
Antibiotic resistance in Gram-negative uropathogens is increasing worldwide. Therefore, new antibiotics may be needed for treatment of complicated urinary tract infections, including pyelopnephritis and urosepsis. In this review such studies with novel antibiotics or combinations published during the last 10 years are considered including one new siderophore cephalosporin, two new carbapenems, three cephalosporin/beta-lactamase inhibitor and two carbapenem/beta-lactamase inhibitor combinations, one novel aminoglycoside, two new fluoroquinolones, a new tetracycline, and the revival of the parenteral fosfomycin disodium.
