Cronkhite-Canada Syndrome (CCS)Cronkhite-Canada syndrome (CCS) definition is a syndrome that causes abnormal growths called polyps in the GI tract along with diarrhea, hair loss, nail changes, and skin hyperpigmentation. In 1955, two unrelated cases caught the attention of Cronkhite and Canada, who observed an intriguing set of symptoms: gastrointestinal polyposis, skin hyperpigmentation, alopecia, onychodystrophy, and diarrhea. This discovery opened a pathway for further exploration into this unique condition. Over 500 cases of CCS have been reported worldwide with a higher prevalence in the Japanese population. Studies have found that the age of onset of symptomatic CCS varies, the mean age of onset is 59 years, but the age at presentation may vary from 31 to 85 years. While most cases occur in older adults, there have also been a few reported cases in individuals younger than 30.
