Chronic atrial and intestinal dysrhythmia (CAID) is a genetic disorder that was first discovered in 2014, by analyzing the DNA of patients of French-Canadian origin and a patient of Scandinavian origin who showed both the cardiac and gastrointestinal condition (Piché, Gosset et al. 2019).
