Nelson Syndrome

Nelson syndrome is a dermatoglyphic syndrome exhibiting certain palmar features reminiscent of the ridges-off-the-end (ROES) syndrome (David 1973). The dermatoglyphic syndrome exhibits similar palmar characteristics to the ROES syndrome. However, this syndrome differs significantly from the ROES syndrome. Therefore, it is suggested that this distinct syndrome be designated as the “Nelson” syndrome, named after the individual who serves as the basis for this proposal. A hypothenar “crack,” observed in both syndromes, seems to be associated with an underlying muscular abnormality.
