Incidental Head and Neck findings on Brain Imaging

Incidental unexpected findings in the head and neck, skull base, and face can be encountered when reading brain MRI or CT scans. Characterization of these findings can be challenging as the imaging protocol is usually not optimized fro evaluation of head and neck pathology, especially when the reading radiologist is not familiar with head and neck pathology. This chapter aims to provide practical guidance on how to characterize and deal with these findings.
