Engineered Nano-oxides and Their Environmental and Catalytic Applications: From Sustainability Perspectives

Engineered nano-oxides (ENOs) are oxides that are intentionally synthesized for specific applications. They significantly contribute to shape the sustainable future of modern society by providing a number of opportunities in the field of energy, environment, industry, sustainability, facile recovery of resources, etc. ENOs have great potential to solve the specific qualitative and quantitative environmental and catalytic problems. In alignment with sustainable development goals (SDGs), ENOs can play a key role in the recovery of resources from waste/wastewater to provide a sustainable solution to various global challenges. In this chapter, we have concluded the recent development in the fields of ENOs (in terms of synthesis, modifications) and also explored the possibilities of their applications in the field of environment and catalysis to give a novel and sustainable solution to various global issues.
