The Internet is a phenomenon that is present in many households, allowing the use of a variety of online services. This statement aims to present the Internet from a human rights perspective and to clarify the legal position of Internet access as a potential regulatory area. The text presents a selected approach to the theoretically distinguishable right to the Internet, as well as the problem of possible Internet exclusion. It also tries to determine both the place and the role of the Internet in the European mechanism for the provision of human rights at the current stage of the information society. It presents the position that the issue of the singling out of the right of access to the Internet in the human rights grid is not yet settled.
