摘要

A 35-year-old male was treated with an en bloc distal tibia allograft and latissimus dorsi free flap for an open pilon fracture with severe soft tissue injury. He developed failure of the bone graft with complete collapse and ankle deformity. He underwent treatment with the Ilizarov external fixation frame including hardware and graft removal, ankle fusion, and tibia and fibula osteotomy for progressive lengthening. One year after frame removal, at last follow-up, the patient recovered lower limb function, and he returned to his previous work as carpenter.
