Land Restoration: What Is It? Why Is It Important?
摘要
Land is the most important natural resource for human and other beings. It is the top layer of the earth’s crust formed by mineral particles, organic matter, water, air and living organisms (European Commission, 2006). It is the earth’s terrestrial surface, and includes all attributes of the biosphere immediately above or below this surface. It enables human life. It provides the physical space for almost all human activities. It supplies not only food and fibre to human and other beings but also essential ecosystem services such as regulation of biochemical, biophysical and water cycles and nutrient filtering.
