Introduction
摘要
The author’s unique experience of having grown up in the 1960s and 1970s, being in an engineering field and having a family and community that supported women engineers provides a framework for her to believe that women can be successful innovators if the right training and right support are provided. The statistics with respect to women in the field of innovation should continue to increase; however, there remains ample room for improvement and parity. The discussion in this chapter is a starting point to present, investigate and propose ways that women can advance themselves in the field of innovation. Education alone will not enhance the statistics of women in innovation, but the author believes that a further understanding of the personal and systemic elements that may limit women innovators must be explored and understood.
