The Biology of Time in Biological and Extrabiological Systems

If we ask ourselves what time is independently of humanity, beyond a comprehensible, albeit vain, anthropocentric tendency to perceive the universe as revolving around us, it becomes clear that this is far from reality. Humanity is but a recent phenomenon in the context of universal history. Time has been at work in biological structures long before our existence, even predating the birth of Earth and the emergence of biology.
