A Novel Survey Platform Design: Addressing Gaps in Google Forms, SurveyMonkey, and Typeform for Enhanced Usability and Effectiveness
摘要
Online survey tools (Google Forms, SurveyMonkey and Typeform) are now core to the digital collection of data within academic, healthcare and business settings. Nevertheless, various issues associated with low levels of personalization, inconsistent response rates, lack of privacy, and low access to high functionality show that there are loopholes yet to be addressed. This paper presents SurveyPlus, a re-designed platform that was developed to address these nagging problems. Using the results of 18 articles published between 2019 and 2024, the platform combines flexibility in design controls, enhanced data-protection, offline support, and real-time analytical feedback. Testing by simulation demonstrates that SurveyPlus can enhance response levels by almost 20%, and user satisfaction by over 30%, with respect to current tools. The results demonstrate the necessity to have more flexible, safe, and non-discriminatory survey systems that respond to current data-collection needs.
