Coloniality and Gender Discourses in Africa: Toward a Decolonial Reconstruction
摘要
My aim in this chapter is to expose the influence of coloniality on gender discourses in Africa. I demonstrate how this understanding becomes the basis for justifying the necessity of decolonizing the notions of Western supremacy as they concern patriarchy, gender, and gender relations. I also show the purpose of unveiling the idea of coloniality and its impact on gender, unveiling the logic of Western gender construction, and showing the prospect of employing the African system of thought as a suitable decolonial method.
