The paper describes the structure and interface of the developed application for modelling heat loss through a flat building wall, which can consist of 1–4 layers of different heat-insulating materials. The application allows the user to select heat-insulating materials, the number of layers and thicknesses, enter temperature sensor readings from the outside and inside the wall, and set time intervals between sensor readings. Using the application, the thermal resistance of a flat wall consisting of 1–4 layers of different materials and different thicknesses, heat flow, and heat loss through the entire wall for a given period can be computed. The developed application can be used as a training tool in classes on disciplines during the study of which students calculate the heat loss of insulating materials.
