Pediatric organ transplantation has progressed over time with improvements in outcomes. The solid organs most frequently transplanted in infants and children are the liver, kidney, heart, and lungs. Anesthetic management is unique to the solid organ being transplanted and the associated comorbidities of each disease state. The demand for donor organs suitable for pediatric patients is much greater than the supply, resulting in unique ethical considerations in pediatric transplantation.
