IoT System to Track Teacher Attendance in Remote Government Schools
摘要
The provision of quality education depends on the attendance of teachers particularly in remote government schools whereby there is minimal administrative management. Attendance tracking systems that are traditional are typically manual, vulnerable, and slow, which lead to inefficiency in monitoring and decision-making. In this paper, a real-time teacher attendance monitoring system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) system is proposed to be implemented on sensor integration, embedded devices, and cloud platforms. The system will be fed with attendance data collected by IoT devices capable of biometric or RFID data collection, and forwarded to a centralized cloud database to enable administrators to track attendance patterns and develop actionable insights. Unlike modern approaches, the proposed model is resource-adaptive to low-resource settings, cost-saving, and scalable, which is why it can be implemented by rural and remote schools. The integration of cloud analytics will ensure proper monitoring, as well as help to make decisions based on data to improve learning outcomes. The analysis of the experiment demonstrates that the system is effective in reducing the number of mistakes made by the humans, enhancing the level of transparency, and helping to implement a more proactive governance in the field of education.
