The Portuguese Italian Architecture Workshop of Paolo Deganello. Project Praxis and ‘Radical’ Achievements
摘要
Paolo Deganello (b. 1940), 84 years old, is an Italian architect who has actively developed a productive line of reasoning in architecture between Italy and Portugal. He graduated in 1966 from the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Florence. He founded the Archizoom Association studio in Florence with the architects A. Branzi, G. Corretti, and M. Morozzi. As stated in its monography, edited by Maria Milano and published in Portugal (September 2009) with the support of ESAD (Escola Superior de Arte e Design) and Matosinhos Municipality, their studio was referred at the first edition of the Lisbon Design Bienal Experimenta in 1999, mostly dedicated to the group, with the exhibition Archizoom Today and a retrospective about at CCB (Centro Cultural de Belém). He was also a teacher at ESAD between 1998–2013. From this perspective, the purpose of this article is to reflect on Deganello’s activity within the radicalism of the twentieth century and the influence he’s work has had on establishing a project praxis in full practice, and within the school, between Portugal and Italy.
