This study examines how economic benefits, health, food waste, and food packaging waste affect school readiness in the free nutritious lunch program. Although past research has shown a link between food waste and food packaging waste and other variables, our analysis uses these variables as moderators. This 160-person quantitative study used PLS-SEM analysis and yielded noteworthy results. This study’s economic and health benefits greatly impact schools’ readiness to embrace this program, consistent with earlier research. The surprising results show that schools do not see food waste and food packaging waste as obstacles to this program. The function of the participating teachers, the school environment, and external elements may be studied in future research.
