Innovation Management and Innovative Behavior
摘要
This chapter discusses the challenges and opportunities that arise in crisis situations and how organizations can leverage innovation to overcome them. It examines the role of innovation management and innovative behavior in adapting to and responding rapidly to critical situations, highlighting the importance of an organizational culture oriented toward creativity, flexibility, and continuous learning. The chapter presents tools for measuring innovative behavior, such as the Innovative Work Behavior (IWB) Scale, which assesses the ability to propose, promote, and implement new ideas at work. It also addresses organizational and cultural ambidexterity, emphasizing the need to balance the exploration of new opportunities with the enhancement of existing resources. Additionally, it discusses factors that facilitate or hinder innovation, such as leadership support, human resource management practices, and characteristics of organizational culture. Proper adaptation of these factors is essential to create an environment conducive to innovation, especially during crises. Using the example of the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, it demonstrates how leadership that fosters creativity, collaboration, and effective innovation management strengthens organizational responsiveness and adaptability.
