Multiband Hat Antenna Design, Simulation and Evaluation for WiFi, WiMAX, X-Band and Biomedical Sensing

Design of high-performance, compact and flexible Hat-type antenna is discussed for advance communication systems. The multi-band operating circular patch integrated with serpentine conductive path enhance electrical length without increasing physical dimensions of antenna. This enables multiple resonance modes excitation supports wireless bands key e.g., higher radar frequencies, WiFi (2.4/5 GHz), WiMAX (2.3–3.5 GHz), X-band and biomedical sensing systems. Microstrip feedline attached with circular serpentine conductive path support impedance matching, minimal return loss and efficient power transfer, observed in S11 and voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR). The Dual ground plane improves radiation efficiency, back lobe suppression and surface wave reduction A novel dual-ground plane configuration further enhances radiation performance, front-to-back ratio and back-lobe suppression, such feature advantageous for wearable and biomedical applications.
