The day after Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah died, Israel killed another senior Hezbollah commander, Nabil Kaouk, in an airstrike. A veteran of Hezbollah who joined the organisation in the 1980s, Kaouk was the deputy head of Hezbollah’s Central Council and was eliminated on Saturday, according to the Israeli military. Since then, Israel has not stopped targeting Hezbollah operatives in southern Lebanon, the Bekaa Valley and northern Lebanon, close to the Syrian border, leading to al-Qusayr and Homs.
