Male Breast Findings on Chest CT
摘要
Breast pathology is significantly more prevalent in women, but male breast diseases are an important yet often overlooked clinical and radiological challenge. With the increased number of chest CT scan requests and greater access to imaging technology, radiologists are increasingly facing a larger spectrum of male breast diseases. It is vital to understand the typical imaging findings of these disorders for proper diagnosis and timely treatment. The male breast is typically constituted of subcutaneous fat with less fibroglandular tissue. The normal adult male breast typically consists of a small, rudimentary amount of breast tissue, consisting primarily of adipose tissue (fat), atrophic ducts, and stromal elements located in the subareolar region, making abnormalities easier to detect when present.
