Investigating and Financing DRT and AMOD as a Service for People with Physical Impairments: A Use Case in Palaio Faliro, Greece
摘要
Accessibility of public transit systems continues to be a concern for people with mobility impairments within dense European municipalities. This paper provides a structured, scientifically supported roadmap towards the implementation of automated mobility-on-demand (AMOD) solutions within the Municipality of Palaio Faliro, a Greek municipality. The proposed service will benefit 120 registered people with mobility impairments through the use of an AMOD van operating during a period of 8 h a day and managed through the use of the scheduling application with a specific focus towards improving the system’s accessibility. This case study contributes towards the definition of the introduction, state of the art, methodology framework, analysis of the area of interest, description of the case study, key challenges, roadmap of integration, framework of monitoring, and list of key performance indicators. Additionally, based on the results, the specific case study for Palaio Faliro will be analyzed in terms of viability and feasibility to present a convincing methodology on how other public authorities can implement similar projects.
