Impact of Social Media on Academic Students

Social media is an internet-based tool that promotes collaboration and the sharing of information. It can be used in academic settings to encourage student engagement and facilitate improved learning outcomes. The purpose of this paper is to assess the impact of social media on the academic performance of high-level university students. In this study, the authors examine the actual effect of students’ daily communication on social media. A descriptive research design was employed to gain an accurate profile of the situation. High-level university students who actively use social media participated in the study. In summary, social media has become an integral part of students’ lives, occupying much of their free time. Undoubtedly, social media also includes elements that are beneficial for student development. Furthermore, communication with peers via social media can help students socialize, make new friends, and discuss study-related issues. Thus, it can be concluded that social media has a dual influence on student achievement, making it essential to approach adolescents’ use of social media with utmost responsibility.
