Effective Utilization and Legal Guidelines When Using Technology and Surveillance in Criminal Investigations
摘要
Professional policing was initially developed in London in the late 1820s to counter the increase in theft in an overpopulated urban center. Physical surveillance was the standard for centuries in an effort to follow, identify, and apprehend criminal offenders. It was not until the late twentieth century that technology was incorporated into these efforts. The variety of options that are currently used to monitor and surveil suspects will be thoroughly outlined.
