A Parametric Modeling Approach for Marine Propellers: Case Study for Wageningen B-Screw Series
摘要
Parametric modeling of marine propellers is still a complex task in computer-aided ship design. This research presents a complete Wageningen B-series propeller modeling framework based on the NURBS algorithm. The framework makes it easy to define key features of a propeller, such as pitch, skew, and chord distribution. It also includes tools for analyzing surface curvature and measuring how closely the model matches reference points. By validating on hydrodynamic performance, the framework allows designers to quickly explore different design options, automatically generate accurate geometries, and easily transfer models to CFD analysis.
