The objective of the work presented in this article was to identify the environmental characteristics that promote perceptions of well-being in temporary post-disaster housing. To this end, a field survey was conducted with victims of disaster displacement in the state of Rio Grande do Sul/Brazil in May 2024. As a result of the interviews, three categories were analyzed, highlighting the environmental attributes that favor well-being, the stressful attributes, and the necessary interventions in temporary housing. Graphs were also presented with the results of the application of photography as a model technique—where the participants were shown images of temporary housing references with different types of materials, typologies, implantation and layout, so that they could choose according to their perception of well-being. Although the uncertainty associated with the post-disaster period often overshadows issues related to well-being, using the environmental features that promote this feeling can be a very effective measure to prevent long-term negative effects on the mental health of homeless people.

摘要
