摘要
This section addresses critical challenges affecting contemporary socio-environmental contexts. It serves as a foundation for discussing how the ergonomics of the built environment can help address societal and climate issues from the perspectives of human health and well-being and planetary sustainability. The chapter presents a need to shift paradigms from a human-centred approach to Sustainable Design of the Built Environment as a proposal for a better global built environment that can overcome current challenges to survival. Additionally, the limitations of the current study are presented, and suggestions for future research are proposed.
