The main objective of the research was to increase the efficiency of the workpiece nest by introducing an industrial robot. The existing process of manufacturing protective sleeves for hydraulic cylinders mounted in loader buckets was analysed. Efficiency and DPU (Defects Per Unit) were calculated. The introduction of an industrial robot with RoboDK offline programming software was proposed. Simulations and tests of the proposed solution showed an improvement in productivity and a reduction in the DPU index. In addition, the automation of the station contributed to a reduction in the production cycle time, a reduction in quality defects, and an increase in the safety of the operators working at this station.
