Indirect Economic Effects

The following section examines the indirect economic effects of sport. In contrast to direct effects, which arise from economic activities within the sport industry itself, indirect effects capture those effects that occur in upstream and downstream sectors, as well as spillover effects generated in other parts of the economy. These include, for example, economic impulses transmitted through supply chains, induced consumption, or complementary industries that benefit from sport-related activities. Section 3.1 analyzes the role of sport in sponsorship, advertising, and media rights, while Sect. 3.2 focuses on the economic value of volunteering.
