Carotid Endarterectomy in a Patient with a Variant of Ansa Cervicalis
摘要
A variant of Ansa cervicalis was encountered (short loop and long ansa) in a patient undergoing carotid endarterectomy for ocular ischemia. The loop and ansa were both preserved by mobilizing posteriorly. The normal anatomy and variants of Ansa cervicalis are discussed, along with the implications of injury to the ansa and techniques for preservation.
