Intercultural Competence in the Treatment of Traumatized Patients
摘要
Migrants, numbering 304 million globally in 2024, are vulnerable to psychiatric disorders due to traumatic experiences before, during, and after migration. In Italy, over 9000 migrants arrived in 2025, mainly from crisis-stricken countries. This chapter highlights the crucial importance of intercultural competencies and trauma-informed approaches in care, focusing on the integration of cultural mediators and multidisciplinary teams, as implemented by Bologna Local Health Authority (AUSL), to ensure sensitive and effective support.
