Investigation of Strength Properties of Polymetallic Mineral Raw Materials
摘要
Assessment of physical and mechanical properties of mineral raw materials is crucial for calculations of technological processes and justification of design parameters of equipment both at the stage of extraction and at the stages of beneficiation and processing of mineral raw materials. One of the important and energy-intensive stages in this technological chain is ore preparation. Polymetallic ore was chosen as the object of research. Studies were carried out to determine the point load index, strength, toughness, and ball milling indices according by F. Bond and the correlation between them was established. After determining the physical and mechanical properties, the grindability was studied to justify the possibility of using selective disintegration. The influence of physical effects on the disintegration of raw materials in the crushing and grinding processes was studied. To quantitatively assess the selectivity of disintegration operations, the analysis of the distribution of components by size classes based on the results of elemental analysis and particle size analysis was proposed. Thus, the interpretation of the obtained data using a comprehensive approach allows us to justify the application of physical effects at the stage of ore preparation, as well as to justify the possibility of selective disintegration, both from the position of physical and mechanical properties of raw materials, and from the position of experimental studies.
