Against the background of the development of satellite communications and global satellite navigation systems, on the one hand, and thanks to the achievements of robotics, on the other, great opportunities are opening up for the development of new types of tourism. We are talking about online underwater virtual tourism. Of significant interest to the average tourist are underwater historical monuments, underwater objects of man-made disasters, sunken ships, planes, etc. As is known, such objects have low accessibility for several reasons, among which the main one is the danger to human health and life. Modern technology allows underwater travel in real-time with a level of safety equivalent to everyday life. The structure and composition of a virtual travel agency are proposed, which is conventionally divided into technical, software, and service parts. The technical component contains communication and robotic equipment. The software part contains interface-operational and server parts, as well as databases. The functions of the service part include ensuring the operability and maintenance of the robotic, server, and communication components. The proposed virtual travel agency concept can be implemented at the regional level and globally by combining regional divisions. The depth range and geography of underwater travel “on the couch” are practically unlimited. Virtual underwater travel can also give impetus to a comprehensive systemic study of the World Ocean. The advantage of virtual tourism over other, more active types is its territorial, social, and age accessibility, which makes it possible to estimate its capital turnover to be hundreds of millions of dollars. No less important for underwater travel is complete safety for the health and life of the tourist.

摘要
