This chapter aims to qualitatively deepen the synthesis from prior studies to develop a taxonomy of the discussions on digital transformation (DT) initiatives within nonprofit organizations (NPOs). By integrating conceptual and empirical insights, the meta-synthesis identifies recurrent patterns, drivers, and strategic orientations from an academic point of view. The resulting taxonomy highlights how NPOs differ in their digital maturity, organizational priorities, and mission-driven constraints. The chapter concludes by offering a structured lens through which scholars and practitioners can interpret diverse DT trajectories.
