Polymer Based Photonic Crystals Textiles for Infrared Wave Control
摘要
This paper proposes the design of photonic crystal textiles made from multifilament yarns of low-refractive-index polymers for active infrared fabric and thermoregulation or camouflage functionalities, while being comfortable and easy-to-wear. Transmission and reflection spectra are calculated as a function of the nature of the polymer and the geometry of the yarns and photonic band gaps are identified to control either absorption or reflection properties. By increasing the filaments diameter, the band gaps shift toward higher wavelength.
