The concluding chapter summarizes the main points that can be drawn from the previous chapters addressing the history of American exceptionalism from the early seventeenth century, its evolution and practice to the present time. The chapter recaps the most significant features of the belief system that is American exceptionalism. It deduces what has been explored in this study and how the United States oscillates in exercising its perceived rights. Tripathi concludes that American exceptionalism as a set of beliefs is deeply entrenched in the American psyche given its history and practice over the centuries, and will continue to shape its conduct.
