By vehicle routing optimization, it is possible to reduce the medicines transportation time, and complete medicines transportation at lower transportation costs. Various costs and constraints during medicine transportation were comprehensively analyzed. An optimization model for medicines transportation were established. Objective function of this model weights various costs to achieve the lowest comprehensive transportation cost under constrained conditions. Based on artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm and combined with genetic algorithm (GA), the IGBCA (Integrated Genetic Bee Colony Algorithm) algorithm was designed to solve the mathematical model. The algorithm combines the advantages of artificial bee colony algorithm and genetic algorithm, it has the feature of fast convergence speed, and can obtain satisfactory solutions of the model.
