Edge-Intelligent Railway Kavach System by Solar-Harvesting IoT Network with ESP32 for Predictive Track Fault Analysis and Collision Mitigation
摘要
Considering that most commercial freight, in India is moved through the railway system problems there can severely harm the economy by raising accident-related deaths. To enhance railway efficiency and safety an innovative based solution named Smart Railway Kavach was developed. The system chiefly focuses on avoiding collisions and detecting faults in rail tracks. This fault detection mechanism, leveraging the Internet of Things constantly oversees the state of railway tracks. It employs sensors to detect irregularities or breakdowns and devises schedules for upkeep to prevent accidents. To avert train crashes collision avoidance depends on data and complex algorithms. Operators can get warnings from this system regarding dangers and have sufficient time to implement the required safety measures. Leveraging IoT technology advantages Smart Railway Kavach is a system that incorporates automated gate control, collision prevention and detection of faults, on railway tracks. This advanced technological system reduces the likelihood of accidents enables responses and enhances railway safety and operational effectiveness via continuous monitoring and alerts for possible threats. The contemporary railway framework, called Smart Railway Kavach offers an more reliable transportation option. This study has explored a technique for avoiding train mishaps. In this approach a microcontroller is utilized to activate an infrared sensor to detect defects, on the rail track. Upon identifying a fault the microcontroller employs IOT to send feedback to the control room automatically halts the train and signals the loco pilot inside the train using a LED. The key elements involved in this project include the DC motor, buzzer, IOT, IR sensor and microcontroller (ESP32). Since infrared sensors function as data transmission tools they can both indicate the fault and initiate a response to the issue on the track. This is the reason, for their utilization. Through the implementation of this suggested project trains will be able to operate on time during winter fog. Also, at night when the driver’s visibility is zero. This could prove advantageous for the Indian Railways.
